This weekend was the Hot Air Balloon Festival and Victory Cup near Austin, Texas. In other words, this weekend was a really big date with beautiful balloons, exciting polo, and delicious fair food!
I wore this adorable white dress with abstract blue and red flowers from Old Navy. It’s so light and comfy, it was perfect for an outdoor event! Unfortunately, they don’t have the same one in stock anymore, but there is a similar one here!
Lesson number 1 at the Victory Cup: Hot air balloons are big. I did not realize just how big. I’ve never been up close and personal to one, I’ve only seen them from afar as they drift across the sky. But this weekend I got close, and let me tell ya, those things are cool!
Lesson number 2: Polo. I’m still not clear on the rules, but a polo match is called a “chukker” and two teams on horseback try to score “goals”. It is a lot of fun to watch, even if you don’t understand what all is going on!
There’s another polo match put on by The Victory Cup in Austin, Tx on May 4th for Derby Day, as well as several other matches all over the country! 🙂
